It is difficult to know where to begin with your separation. Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions that you may have:

Q: Where do I start?

Call us and speak with our intake coordinator, who will answer your questions and help you with your next steps. Learn more about us by visiting our about page.

Q: Can I talk to a lawyer?

If you are contacting us for the first time, you will be directed to our intake coordinator who will explain our new client process. All prospective clients complete our Balbi Assessment, which allows us to get to know each other and for you to receive valuable information before moving forward.

Q: How do I choose a lawyer?

Visit our team page or speak with our intake coordinator to choose a lawyer that is best suited to meet your needs.

Q: What is a Balbi Assessment?

The Assessment is different than a typical lawyer consultation. It’s a comprehensive assessment and legal advice session, not a meet-and-greet. Our focus is on helping you, not on you hiring us. Time does not constrain the Assessment, like a consult. We take the necessary time to give you the upfront advice you need. You will leave your Assessment with greater understanding and clarity about how to move forward.

Our Balbi assessment is a one-time meeting designed to give you the best possible start on your path to resolution. You leave the meeting knowing your rights, responsibilities, and resolution options. Visit our legal advice page for more details.

Q: How much are your legal services?

Many variables can affect the cost to resolve a legal matter, including the level of conflict and the comlexity of the issues. Once we know more about your matter in our Balbi Assessment, we will be able to give you an estimated cost of your resolution options.

Q: What do I do if I feel unsafe or need protection?

Call 911 to contact Calgary Police Services if you are in immediate danger. Contact us at (403) 269-7300 for legal advice.
