Growing up in South Africa spurred Lily’s passion for advocacy and justice. Now, a long-time Calgarian and University of Calgary graduate, she applies that passion to help families protect what they care about most.
Lily’s style is direct, practical and personable. Her clients also describe her as caring and meticulous. She values excellence and is committed to providing a superior client experience.
She represents clients on a range of family law issues. With a business management background, she helps business owners navigate the unique considerations in their disputes. She also works with clients with complex property division and spousal support matters, as well as custody, access, child support and Protection Order issues.
Lily has represented clients in negotiation, mediation, arbitration, Judicial Dispute Resolution and court, including conducting trials and hearings. She is a former recipient of the Donnel O. Sabey, Q.C. Prize for outstanding trial advocacy and winner of the Blackstone Debate.
Throughout law school, Lily volunteered at a free legal clinic. This experience took her into the courtroom early on, where she spent much of her time representing clients in family and civil court.
She was a student of Lonny Balbi, Q.C. and joined Balbi & Company as a summer student while in law school. Before law school, Lily worked in community building, investment banking and consulting.
